Heather and All of It's Glory

Heather's is a dark comedy set in 1988, written by Micheal Lehmann, about a girl named Veronica Sawyer who lives in Ohio and is part of the most popular clique in school with the girls, all named Heather, The Heathers indulge in cruel behavior in which Veronica doesn't agree with. She soon falls in love with the edgy new kid in school, J.D., who starts to question Veronica's choice of friends. She then plays a prank on the main Heather, Heather Chandler, and accidentally poisons her, causing her to die. J.D. convinces Veronica to forge a suicide note and make it look like a suicide instead of a murder. Veronica eventually realizes that J.D. is killing students that he does not care for on purpose. She then tries to stop him while also trying to avoid conflict with another Heather, Heather Dukes. In the opening scene, it zooms in on the back of Heather Chandlers's head, showing her tying her hair up into a red scrunchy, which later in the movie is seen as a status symb

happiness?

"Anyone who can maintain a state of happiness, given the state of the world, is living in a delusion" claims philosopher and psychoanalyst Adam Phillips, and I seem to agree.  Constantly maintaining happiness is not realistic ,especially  in this day and age when there are all types of scary and confusing things happening in the world and in this country.Things like the recent school shootings across the country and the comeback of outdated deadly diseases, due to parents refusing to vaccinate their kids. but I mainly agree because the pursuit of happiness can only bring negative emotion and maintaining happiness while pursuing it is impossible, but also because negative emotions are very much needed. John Stuart mill said it the best, "ask yourself if you are happy and you cease to be so" (Mill, 531). Pursuing happiness only brings discontent and lack of enjoyment. The more time you spend trying to be happy, the less time you spend actually being happy. You set t

Dog Food Disaster

In the summer of 2017, a rumor that Blue Buffalo brand dog and cat foods had been found to contain a large quantity of lead in them and had to be recalled. The rumor had been spread by word of mouth and had caused an up rise on social media. Because of this, a class action law suit was filed claiming that Blue Buffalo's dog food had killed the plaintiff's dog. The plaintiff who filed the law suit had conducted tests on the dog food independently and had claimed to have found a sizable amount of lead; However, the tests were never re-conducted by professionals and were taken by someone with obvious bias. This rumor has been found to be untrue and heavily fabricated. The only actual recall on the Blue Buffalo brand's pet food was a voluntary recall on their BLUE Wilderness ®  Rock Mountain Recipe TM Red Meat Dinner Wet Food for Dogs because there was a possibility that it could contain heightened level of naturally-occurring beef thyroid hormones, which are not even related o

To Tell or Not to Tell, That is the Question: An Ethical Dilemma

Have you ever slandered the name of someone you care about because you were feeling bad about yourself? I have! Not only do I regret it, but I also feel eminence guilt for doing so. Approaching this dilemma, I looked at how my decision will affect my inter personal relationship with this individual and have asked myself how this decision will reflect on who I am as a person.  So here's what happened. My friend and I, lets call her Debbie, have been frequently talking about about growing as people, the importance of it, and how we can continue to do so in our lives, for about a year now. When this conversation had started I had been experiencing lots of growth as a person and her journey had just began. She is in her thirties and has been through many traumatic events in her life which has caused her to develop some negative coping skill, which is totally normal, but to grow it is important to try and get out of these habits and replace these coping skills with more positive one

I Am Sarah Yvonne Orlando: An Introduction.

My name is Sarah Yvonne Orlando (middle name pronounced why-von). This is my first year at York Tech as well as my first ever college semester. I've learned a lot so far while attending. Not only about the way I learn but a lot in general. It's really exciting and nice feeling myself move forward in life. Knowing that i'm here and actually working towards being a kindergarten teacher instead of just talking about being one is definitely a chance in pace and a really great one at that. I've always been a huge procrastinator, but for some reason it all went away once I started college. I don't know exactly how it happened considering how awful it has always been but I have a pretty clear idea. I think my mindset changed. I've always been goal oriented but was always missing the drive. It never lasted longer that a few day until I would feel that what I was attempting was something I couldn't possibly achieve and then i'd give up. Thinking back on it, a lot
